Pekayon Reservoir Offers Interesting Facilities

The newly constructed Pekayon Reservoir is not only functioned as flood handling, but also water-tourism destination for residents.

It has exotic night view

The reservoir is constructed on Jalan Gandaria, RW 03, Pekayon Urban Village, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta by 1.6 hectare. It has various facilities to attract residents to come.

East Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri said the reservoir construction that took two years is intended for flood handling, public interaction, recreation and sport area as well as child-friendly playground.

"It has exotic night view thanks to beautiul garden lights. There is also Pekayon Reservoir signboard completed with bright light," he said, Friday (12/27).

Saugi explained that the reservoir, which can accommodate up to 41,090 cubic meters of water, is equipped with six fishing areas and 10 pavilions for visitors to rest.

Moreover, there are two children playgrounds on north and south side, outdoor gymnasium, security post on the southern entrance, public toilet, and 740 meter-long jogging track.

"There is also Sri Gunting Bird statue as the East Jakarta icon," he stated.
