Orange Troops Clear New Year's Eve Trash in S. Jakarta

Some 30 PPSU personnel or orange troops who are on standby in the Jakarta Berdendang (Jakarta sings) event area next to the Orient Hotel, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Bendungan Hilir Urban Village, Tanah Abang Sub-district, Central Jakarta, immediately clear the trash from New Year celebration.

Bendungan Hilir Urban Village's Economy, Development, and Public Welfare Section Head, Muhammad Irwansyah expressed that after the event was over, PPSU was immediately sent to clear of any trash for the convenience of residents passing by.

"We were short of personnel last year, and now we are adding more to maximize the trash cleanup," he expressed, Wednesday (1/1).

He also sent motor carts and pick-up cars to take the street from plastic bottles, leftover fireworks and food packaging.

"At 1 AM, we make sure everything is clean of trash, including the main roads," he stressed.

The action above received appreciation from the passing person, Sudirya (34). 

"I saw that they (PPSU) had been alert since the event started. So, as soon as the event was over, they immediately cleaned up the trash quickly," he said.
