Open Defecation in 28 RWs of Kebayoran Lama Tackled

Some 28 of the 77 RWs in Kebayoran Lama Sub-district, South Jakarta have been free from Open Defecation (BABS).

South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin hoped that South Jakarta was expected to be BABS-free in the next five years.

"We want the South Jakarta to become a healthy city. That's why, we are committed to intensify STBM or PHBS activities well together with the community, government and others," he expressed, Thursday (1/2).

Kebayoran Lama Sub-district Head, Iwan K Santoso added efforts and acceleration would continue to be made, thus 49 other RWs in its work area could be free from Open Defecation Free (ODF).

"One of them is we have made a joint declaration of commitment to stop BABS," he explained.

He added Kebayoran Lama was targeted to achieve total sanitation conditions in 2030 due to the declaration of ODF commitment with environmental administrators and stakeholders.

"Hopefully, we and residents can change behavior to good hygiene and sanitation. Thus, Kebayoran Lama will complement South Jakarta in meeting the aspects of a healthy city.
