Illegal Parking, More than 5,000 Vehicles in South Jakarta Netted

More than 5,000 vehicles have been controlled in South Jakarta during 2024 due to illegal parking.

Sanctions given include removing valves, towing, and so forth

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Bernard Oktavianus Pasaribu asserted violators were given sanctions in the form of various actions to create public order.

"Sanctions given include removing valves, towing, and so forth," he expressed, Thursday (1/9).

Joint Personnel Crack Down on PKL and Illegal Parking along Jalan Blora

Of 5,000 vehicles netted, he detailed, 3,140 were two-wheeled vehicles, 14 three-wheeled vehicles, and 18 four-wheeled vehicles, where their valves were removed.

Then officers also grounded 317 two-wheeled vehicles. They were given an agreement letter and a regional tax management information system (SIMPAD) for each zone.

"1,643 four-wheeled vehicles were towed with agreement letter, 35 of them through SIMPAD," he explained.

He hoped that the sanction was given as a deterrent effect to make violators not to conduct the same mistake. He also urged vehicle users not to park carelessly on the roadsides, sidewalks, or places without markings or parking signs.

"We're simultaneously socializing Law Number 22/2009 on Traffic and Transportation, as well as Bylaw Number 5/2014 on Transportation," he closed.
