KPKP Agency Vaccinated 59,225 Pets in 2024

Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP) Agency keeps running various vaccination program to ensure the animal health in Jakarta.

As many as 59,225 rabies transmitter pets like cat, dog, monkey and weasel were vaccinated in 2024. The agency also gave 5,961 vaccine dosages to prevent Foot and Mouth Disease in cattle, buffalo, goat and sheep.

Then tetanus vaccines were given to 338 horses as effort to increase the livestock health.

"Vaccination for brucellosis, anthrax, and Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle was also a priority," said Suharini Eliawati, Agency's Head, Wednesday (1/15).

Eli added that the program is also part of strategic step in supporting Jakarta as a global city that ensures the safety of animal products and increases production in the livestock sector.

"The program ensures animal health and provides assurance of animal products safety for public," she added.

According to her, the agency shows its commitment through its various programs in maintaining animal health and improving the welfare of livestock breeders in Jakarta.

"We will continue to increase vaccination coverage," she stated.
