Kemayoran Gempol Fire Victims Well Taken Care of at Evacuation Site

Kebon Kosong Urban Village and Central Jakarta BPBD Task Force ensured that fire victims on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol RT 05/06 were well treated. Now, they are staying in two evacuation tents that have been prepared.

Kebon Kosong Urban Village Head, Alfalast Susetyo Dewanto explained, there are 45 families with a total of 118 people affected by the fire that broke out on Wednesday (1/15).

Fire Destroys 30 Houses in Kemayoran Gempol

"Most of the them are now staying in evacuation tents, some are staying at their relatives' houses," he conveyed, Thursday (1/16).

In handling the fire victims, his side set an emergency response status for three days. Afterwards, it will be evaluated whether the emergency response status will be extended to seven days or not.

"Since yesterday afternoon, an Emergency Response Post has been built on Jalan Bendungan Jago, complete with supporting facilities, such as portable toilets and clean water," he said.

Central Jakarta BPBD Task Force Head, Alfalast Khojin added, his side and Central Jakarta Social Sub-agency prepared 200 food packages which would be distributed three times to fire victims. Moreover, they also received assistance in form of blankets, family kids, clothes packages, and others.

"So far, we have ensured that fire victims are well taken care of. For the continuation of emergency response status, we will follow the decision of urban village," he stated.
