Survivors of Collapsed Houses in Malaka Jaya Receive Social Assistance

East Jakarta Acting Mayor, Iin Mutmainah, symbolically handed over assistance to residents whose houses collapsed on Jalan Bunga Rampai, Gang 2, RT 08/06, Malaka Jaya, Duren Sawit.

Hopefully, this assistance can lighten their burden

She delivered assistance sourced from Baznas Bazis and East Jakarta Social Sub-agency when she visited the incident site on Wednesday night (1/29).

She came to provide encouragement and show the commitment that the government is always there for the residents affected by disasters.

"Hopefully, this assistance can lighten their burden. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims' families. This incident is an unexpected disaster due to extreme weather," she expressed, Thursday (1/30).

Rehabilitation Guarantee Protection Section Head, Deni Triyanto said there were 28 items of clothing and basic necessities aid provided to the recipients. Among them were instant noodles, cooking oil, sweet soy sauce, and mineral water.

Then also two pieces of training pants, men's and women's underwear, polo shirts, dresses, adult blankets, towels, sandals, liquid soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bras, girls' school uniforms, as well as one bag and school shoes.

"We also provided two bags of five-kilogram packaged rice, four packs of biscuits, and six cans of sardines," he explained.

In the meantime, the East Jakarta PMI also sent assistance in the form of 30 sheets of zinc, one piece each of mat and tarpaulin, two packages of school kits, one package of hygiene kits, and one package of basic necessities.

"Hopefully, this will also lighten the burden of those affected by the disaster," uttered East Jakarta PMI's Public Relations and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian.

They also received financial assistance by Rp 5 million from East Jakarta Baznas Bazis.

East Jakarta Baznas Bazis Coordinator, Eka Napisah said the money was to help them rent a temporary house.

"We haven't yet rehabilitation of the house because there has been no request from the relevant parties," she uttered.

Meanwhile, a homeowner, Yani Silalahi admitted her gratitude and thanked the mayor and her team for coming to provide assistance and moral support to her.

"We are grateful for her visit last night, which helped heal the trauma from the disaster we experienced. The assistance provided was indeed something we really needed," she admitted.
