BPBD: Jakarta Back to Normal After Big Floods

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that all flooding caused by heavy rain from January 28 to 29, 2025, completely receded.

Some of them have started cleaning their homes

Based on the report gathered until Friday (1/31) at 9 PM, there were no more floods left in Jakarta.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji said the flood receded due to the cooperation and hard work of the Water Resources Agency (SDA), Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat), as well as community elements such as neighborhood associations and community leaders.

“They use mobile pumps and make sure the water channels are functioning well," he expressed, Saturday (2/1).

Even though the flood receded, 134 residents from 57 families in Cengkareng Barat were still being evacuated to the refugee camp at the An Nur Mosque.

"They are sure to return home tomorrow. However, some of them have started cleaning their homes," he explained.

Nevertheless, BPBD urges residents to remain vigilant against the potential for subsequent flooding and to contact emergency services at 112.
