This proposal was made after receiving aspirations received from PGMI DPW Jakarta regarding the disparity in allowances received by madrasah teachers.
"Insya Allah, hopefully (aspirations from) these teachers have been submitted to Education Agency so that grant funds from Jakarta Government to Ministry of Religious Affairs for Jakarta Regional Office are properly distributed to madrasah teachers," he said at Jakarta DPRD Building, Wednesday (2/12).
He explained that madrasah teachers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs get different allowances from teachers under the Education Agency.
"Madrasah teachers also teach Jakarta children. But indeed, the regulation is different from the structure in Education Agency," he stated.
He explained that grant from the Jakarta Government to Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs amounting Rp 347 billion is expected to be used properly to enhance madrasah teachers' allowances.
"Madrasah teachers with or without ASN status must receive attention. If it is not possible this year, it can be calculated for next year," he asserted.
Meanwhile, PGMI DPW Jakarta Chairperson Samsurial, hoped that the grant from Jakarta Government to Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs can be optimized to improve madrasah teachers' welfare.
"A budget that can increase madrasah teachers' income through grants," he conveyed.
