Organda Expected to Improve Roles in Building Integrated Transportation System

Jak arta Acting Governor, Teguh Setyabudi hopes to increase the role of Jakarta Land Transport Organization (Organda) in developing an integrated, safe, and sustainable transportation system towards Jakarta as the center of national economy and a global city.

"There will be many challenges and opportunities in the future that can be taken by Jakarta Organda to create a reliable integrated public transport,"

In the future, he expected Jakarta no longer holds the State Capital (IKN) status but remains the center of national economy and transforms as a global city. One of the criteria for Jakarta to become a global city is from the city's public transport.

"There will be many challenges and opportunities in the future that can be taken by Jakarta Organda to create a reliable integrated public transport," he said when delivering a speech at Jakarta Organda Work Conference 2025 in Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok, Thursday (2/13).

Developing public transport, he added, is not only looking the needs in Jakarta, but also the needs in the surrounding agglomeration areas, such as Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Bogor.

"Therefore, in terms of authority of the Special Region of Jakarta, it needs a special forum that handles transportation. This provides great challenges and opportunities for Jakarta Organda members," he stated.

According to him, Jakarta Organda's strategic role is getting bigger in developing Jakarta's transportation system as the center of national economy and global city.

"Jakarta Organda members must be ready to welcome an advance, equitable, livable, competitive, and sustainable city. This can be realized with supports from various sectors, including transportation, as the main elements of mobility and connectivity," he mentioned.

He explained, as a forum for road transport operators, Jakarta Organda holds a strategic role, not only as a transportation service provider, but also the main partner in realizing a reliable and quality transportation system for Jakartans.

"I'm sure and optimistic that Jakarta Organda can realize it. I also hope a better synergy with jakarta Transportation Agency," he expressed.

He revealed, concrete steps are needed to expand the service and build public trust towards safe and comfortable public transportation so that targets to increase the use of public transport by around 55 percent by 2045 could be achieved.

"I support the addition of JakLingko fleets or feeders thus all residents can be served with safe and comfortable public transportation in Jakarta. The Jakarta Government remains committed to improving the integration of public transport to ensure the safety and comfort of transportation services," he uttered.

On the other hand, Jakarta Organda Regional Council (DPD) Chairperson, Shafruhan Sinunga added, his party carried out Regional Work Conference (Mukerda) with theme of "Integrated and Safety Road Public Transport for Jakarta as an Economy Center and Global City".

"We would like to thank the Jakarta Government for helping us so that Organda work conference 2025 could run well," he closed.
