Six Heavy Equipment to Dredge Pluit Reservoir Spillway Area

The North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency deployed six heavy equipment to dredge mud in the Pluit Reservoir Spillway area, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district.

North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Ahmad Saipul said the dredging was focused on 13 spillway gates that flow into Pluit Reservoir and Gendong River, which is one of the connecting channels to the reservoir.
"There are six heavy excavators, as well as six dump trucks and one barge," he expressed, Tuesday (2/25).

"We also cleaned the inlet on the side of the road which functions to channel overflow rainwater into the reservoir," he explained.
His party would revitalize the embankment on the west side of Pluit Reservoir, which would be socialized beforehand to building owners around the location.
"We'll coordinate with local urban village head, sub-district head, and mayor. Hopefully, this project can run well in anticipating flooding," he explained.
He added the Pluit Reservoir was expected to function optimally as a flood control infrastructure in Jakarta.
