Jakarta City Council's Commission E Legislator, Yudha Permana, suggested Jakarta Provincial Government to build Jakarta Cultural Center at downtown.
We want to perform art routinely everyday
Yudha said the Jakarta Cultural Center is functioned as society education facility and appreciation for artists. This is also able to attract tourists to visit Jakarta.
"We want to perform art routinely everyday at downtown. The target is at Taman Ismail Marzuki. It means foreign tourists who visit Jakarta are able to attend the performance," he said, Thursday (2/27).
Yudha added that more art performance means create better welfare for the artists.
"Hopefully many art performance will also boost the artists' welfare," he added.
Moreover, he emphasized the importance of artists' role in preserving Jakarta's culture and educating the society, especially younger generation.
"Live art performance have bigger impact compared to watching on screen. I hope Jakarta can be a center for arts and culture," he hoped.
