City Government Assists Flood Survivors in East Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government through Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) is assisting the flood survivors in East Jakarta.

Acting Jakarta BPBD Implementer Head, Isnawa Adji, said ready-to-eat food packages were distributed to assist survivors getting their sahur meal.

Isnawa explained the flood occurred at dawn was triggered by the overflowing of Ciliwung River since heavy rain poured on the upstream areas.
"We run evacuation and distributed food since dawn," he explained.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta PMI also distributed assistances for resident at RW 05, Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-district, Sunday (3/2) night.
East Jakarta PMI Public Relation and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian, admitted the assistances were already distributed at 11 PM since the area was predicted to be hit by flood since Katulampa Dam was on Level 1 status.
"We distributed 600 pcs of bread and 15 boxes of mineral water for sahur meal," he said.
He added that his side will deliver another assistances if needed or based on urban village's request.
As for information, the inundation up to 8:25 AM at RW 04, 05, 07 and RW 08, Kampung Melayu Urban Village has receded or lower compared to this dawn.
