Potensi Hujan Ekstrem, Warga Diimbau Pantau Perkembangan Lewat JAKI

Extreme Rain, Residents Urged to Monitor Developments via JAKI

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the potential for extreme rain will hit Jakarta from March 11 to 20, 2025.

With these features, residents can be better prepared for potential flooding

To anticipate this extreme rain, Jakarta Government and BMKG has conducted Weather Modification Operations (OMC) to reduce high rainfall.

As a mitigation measure, residents are urged to use the JAKI application to get the latest information about flood conditions through the Flood Monitoring Feature. They can also report flood disasters through the Laporan Warga Feature (Citizen Report) in the application.

Jakarta Intensifies OMC to Anticipate Extreme Rain

JAKI provides various features that can help residents stay safe and alert during the rainy season and potential flooding, such as checking news about flooding, reporting problems that have the potential to cause flooding, preparing alert numbers, and monitoring floods in real-time.

"With these features, residents can be better prepared for potential flooding and contribute to mitigation efforts,” expressed Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head, Isnawa Adji, Tuesday (3/11).

He urged residents to remain vigilant and prepare for possible flooding. In an emergency, the public can contact Jakarta's emergency services at 112, which operates free of charge for 24 hours non-stop.

"The Jakarta Government urgea residents to remain calm and prepare for potentially extreme weather conditions. With good coordination between the government and residents, the impact of bad weather can be minimized," he stated.
