Jakarta Sends Aid to Flood-Affected Residents in Bekasi

demonstrating its commitment in distributing humanitarian aid to residents. Most recently, they sent assistance to residents affected by flooding in Bekasi City, West Java.This is proof of concern among regions
This assistance was handed over directly by City Secretary, Marullah Matali and received by Bekasi Deputy Mayor, Harris Bobihoe at the Emergency Response Post, Bekasi Mayor's Office.
The assistance provided was support for fire engines, garbage trucks, portable toilets, heavy equipment, and logistics such as rice, packaged rice meals, mineral water, tents, tarpaulins, and blankets.

The action above received appreciation from Regional Administration Director General for Ministry of Home, Safrizal. He emphasized that inter-regional concern like this is an important asset in building the nation.
"When we spoke with the Governor yesterday to check the condition of Jakarta and it turned out to be improving. We also invited him to see Bekasi City. His response was lightning fast. This is proof that regions can help each other like brothers. We must continue to maintain this concern," he expressed, Thursday (3/6).
City Secretary, Marullah Matali uttered this assistance is a form of concern between agglomeration regions and part of the Governor's direct instructions.
"The Governor immediately responded to the request for assistance and today it has arrived in Bekasi. This is proof of concern among regions. Hope this cooperation will continue and bring benefits," he added.
Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Executive Secretary, Marulitua Sijabat, said that this assistance from Jakarta was expected to accelerate the recovery process in Bekasi, thus residents could immediately return to their respective homes.
The Jakarta Government also ensures that the support provided does not interfere with flood management in Jakarta, as the personnel and equipment deployed come from areas not affected by flooding," he added.
Bekasi City Deputy Mayor, Harris Bobihoe, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Jakarta Government. This assistance means a lot to Bekasi residents, especially in accelerating post-flood recovery.
"When we went down to the field, the Fire Agency and water trucks from Jakarta had been working since morning, even before the ceremonial event. This is real evidence that Jakarta cares about Bekasi, like a friend and brother. We appreciate it and hope that this cooperation will continue in the future," he added.
Here is Jakarta's support to help with the flood disaster in Bekasi City:
1. 342 human resources and work tools consisting of:
- 200 personnel from the Jakarta Environmental Agency
- 87 personnel from the Central Jakarta PPSU
- 15 personnel from the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat)
- 40 personnel from the Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency
2. 10 dump trucks from the Jakarta Environment Agency
3. Three dump trucks from the Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency
4. Eight portable toilets and one dirty water tanker truck
5. Three mobile toilet buses, three Jakarta Gulkarmat Spray cars + 15 personnel
6. Seven tons of rice
