Kembangan Selatan PHB Needs Dredging

Connecting channel (PHB) at Jalan Kembangan Selatan, RW 01, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Kembangan, West Jakarta, is shallowing. Consequently, the channel is narrowing as there is so much dry mud.

The connecting channel needs to be dredged as it has been worse

Beritajakarta.com observation, much mud makes channel height level with the residential is only 30 centimeters. Besides that, there are so much waste in the channel.

Dulloh (66) a citizen of RT 05/01, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village said, the channel had been normalized about 2 years ago. Dozens of illegal building standing on the channel bank had also been demolished.

"Due to flood-prone, the channel is supposed to be dredged deeper. If it isn't then our residential will always be flooded every rainy season," expressed Dulloh, Thursday (6/11).

Kembangan Sub-District Head, Slamet Riyadi claimed, the shallowing and narrowing of the channel has been worse due to dry mud. As a consequence, every rainy season water from the channel is overflowing to the residence and road.

"The connecting channel needs to be dredged as it has been worse. To realize it we will coordinate with related unit thus it can be dredged immediately," he told.
