Pramono Launches Communal Reservoir and Distributes Air Sehat Cards

the remaining 30 percent can be pursued in 2029

This step is part of Jakarta Provincial Government's effort in accelerating clean water access for all Jakarta residents, especially in areas with difficult access.

During his speech, Pramono emphasized the clean water access for society. He targeted clean water problem in Jakarta to be solved 100 percent by 2029, or a year faster from the initial target in 2030.

"I believe the remaining 30 percent can be pursued in 2029," Pramono said.

Pramono added two communal reservoirs in Tambora and Gandaria Utara can be used by 2,367 families. Then he hopes the distribution of Air Sehat Cards to 300,000 PAM Jaya customers or equivalent to 1.8 million people can assist the society getting clean water at affordable prices.

"The card is given to family level who need its most. The levels are 2A1 very simple household and level 2A2 simple household," Pramono added.

PAM Jaya Director, Arief Nasruddin explained communal reservoirs are constructed to solve uneven water pressure problem, especially areas far from the PAM Jaya booster pump. The reservoir also functions as a water storage that can stabilize water supply during the rush hours of water use and in facing climate change.

"Our PAM boosters are at the furthest points. Not all areas can be pushed with it due to age of our pipes varies," he explained.

Related to the disbursement of Air Sehat Cards to 300,000 PAM Jaya customers, Arief explained the card provides access to clean water at a special rate Rp 1 per liter without any sue limits.

However, he requested the society receiving the card to use the water wisely. PAM Jaya also prepares a service to quickly respond water disruptions.

Arief added PAM Jaya also distributed 1,000 free towers to 1,000 families living in areas with low water supply.

As for information, water tariff for household customer in Jakarta is lower compared to Bodetabek areas. For example, Very Simple Household customer tariff was Rp 1,050 for 10 cubic meters consumption. Then new tariff is Rp 1,000.

The water tariff in Bogor is Rp 2,250, Tangerang Rp 2,775, Bekasi Rp 3,200, Bekasi Regency Rp 4,100, and Depok Rp 4,200.
