“We are grateful to have completed the fasting by controlling our speech, showing empathy, and raising awareness to help those in need. May the lessons learned during Ramadan be maintained until we meet the next Ramadan,” he said on Monday (3/31).
He also called on all Muslims in Jakarta to support the 40 priority development programs under the leadership of Jakarta Governor and Vice Governor, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno.
To support this, there are two virtues that Prophet Muhammad SAW taught: social and religious piety. Social piety can be manifested in actions such as spreading peace, providing food to those in need and the hungry, maintaining family ties, building communication, enhancing synergy, and collaboration.
“Meanwhile, religious piety is achieved through night prayers. Allah commands us to cultivate both social and religious piety,” he explained.
After performing the Eid prayer, Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno wished a Happy Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri to Jakartans and everyone celebrating.
"Today, as the vice governor, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Eid al-Fitr, and the Governor sends his regards because he performed the Eid prayer at Istiqlal Mosque alongside Indonesian President, followed by a visit to Presidential Palace," he conveyed.
Rano expressed gratitude that the month of Ramadan in Jakarta had been peaceful, calm, and serene, allowing Jakarta residents to fulfill their fast with devotion until Eid al-Fitr.
"The preparations for the homecoming journey were well-organized and ran smoothly, while food prices stayed stable throughout Ramadan. We are thankful everything proceeded without issues," he added.
He further mentioned that the Jakarta Provincial Government remained on alert, as the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted the possibility of tidal flooding.
"The team is fully prepared. I am thankful that our non-Muslim colleagues are also on standby to face the potential tidal flooding," he stated.
For information, the Eid prayer at Fatahillah Mosque was also attended by Jakarta Secretary, Marullah Matali, along with several officials and employees of the Jakarta Provincial Government.
