34,950 Travelers Arrived at Senen and Gambir Stations Today

Around 52,056 passengers from several cities in East Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and West Java, arrived in Jakarta and its surrounding areas via train on Friday (4/4).

Of 52,056 passengers, 34,950 arrived at Senen and Gambir stations.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Irfan Hendriwintoko explained the number of passenger arrivals in Jakarta and the surrounding areas had been increasing since Monday (3/31). The numbers continued to rise each day and were expected to peak today.

"The peak today reached 52,056 passengers with the destination of Senen Station having 18,250 passengers and Gambir Station having 16,700 passengers. The rest disembarked at Jatinegara, Bekasi, Cikarang, Karawang, and Cikampek stations," he expressed.

Additionally, the number of passengers departing from Gambir and Senen stations was still quite high. The authorities recorded 46 train departures from Gambir Station with a total capacity of 21,868 seats available.

Of 21,868 seats, 11,052 were sold out, recording a occupancy rate of 51 percent.

Then, Pasar Senen Station served a total of 42 trips with a capacity of 27,316 seats available.

Based on the latest data, 22,752 seats were sold out, recording an occupancy rate of 83 percent.

"Hopefully, the return flow can run safely, comfortably, and orderly," he concluded.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin urged the newcomers intending to settle in Jakarta should submit their personal data report to the neighborhood association (RT) and community unit (RW) up to the local urban village for the processing of their residency status according to their domicile.

"Principally, they must report their residency status immediately. Jakarta is an open city, anyone is welcome to come, and that has already been conveyed by the Governor," he said.
