Three South Jakarta Parks Set for Revitalization and 24-Hour Operation

The Jakarta Provincial Government will revitalize several parks in South Jakarta, including Ayodia Park, Langsat Park, and Leuser Park. This initiative aims to optimize facilities at these green spaces.

"...we expect the construction to commence by mid-year,"

Moreover, the revitalization of these parks is intended to support the ASEAN Secretariat's office in Jakarta.

"We will make Ayodia Park, Langsat Park, and Leuser Park, into ASEAN's main parks. In the medium-long term, these spaces will be the facility for the capital of ASEAN. Why we are doing that? Because the existing facilities have not been optimally used," said Pramono at Leuser Park, Gunung Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta, on Friday (4/11).

He ensured that the three parks would be well-connected. The revitalization will use compensation funds from the excess building floor coefficient (KLB), which are already available.

"From KLB funds, which are already in place, so we expect the construction to commence by mid-year," he added.

He also emphasized that the park renovations should reflect community preferences, ensuring that facilities such as jogging tracks and toilets meet the public needs.

"The parks are lively because people need a culture to visit them. They come to express themselves, socialize, meet relatives, sing, read poetry, and enjoy books," he explained.

Pramono targeted the revitalization process to begin in mid-year and be completed by the end of the year. Once finished, the three parks will be open 24 hours, taking into account the surrounding environment, readiness of local small businesses (UMKM), and improved parking arrangement.

"I plan to open them 24 hours soon, starting with this park. This will be the first landmark showing that Jakarta can have parks operating 24 hours," he mentioned.

Pramono ensured that the Jakarta Provincial Government's policy to operate parks 24 hours a day will be carried out with careful consideration of local residents. He emphasized that the activation of 24-hour parks should not disturb the surrounding community.

Therefore, he has instructed his subordinates to prioritize dialogue with local communities during the process.

"It's fine here, so we have started from this park. Although the facilities haven't been fully renovated yet, it is already operating 24 hours," he mentioned.

During the visit, Pramono also visited Tebet Eco Park. After engaging with local residents, he confirmed that the park will not operate 24 hours.

"Tebet Eco Park won't be open 24 hours. It will be close at 10 PM and reopen at 6 AM," he concluded.
