As information, the Jakarta Environment Agency has begun operating electric compactor dump trucks with six cubic meters capacity. These trucks are fully powered by electricity, emission-free, and have a low noise level.
Jakarta Environment Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto stated his agency acquired five units of environmentally friendly electric compactor trucks this year.
"This is our commitment to reducing air pollution and carbon emissions. We've procured five electric compactors this year, complete with charging devices, each with a capacity of six to seven cubic meters," he explained.
He explained this compactor truck has technical specifications specifically designed to support waste management operations in Jakarta, featuring a full electric plug-in system, zero emissions, and equipped with automatic waste compaction technology.
The dimensions of this unit include a length of 3,300 mm, a width of 1,700 mm, a height of 1,950 mm, and an empty weight of approximately 1,700 kg. The required electrical power is 1.5 kW with a 3-phase system. In addition, this truck is also equipped with a digital control panel, a safety switch, and a hydraulic control unit to ensure safe and efficient operation.
As support, the Jakarta Government will also provide Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in strategic locations such as truck pools, Rorotan RDF Plant, and Bantar Gebang Landfill. These SPKLUs are equipped with a super fast charging system that can fully charge a battery in 20 to 30 minutes.
