Odd-Even Traffic Policy Not in Effect in Jakarta on April 18

Jakarta Transportation Agency announced that the odd-even traffic policy will be not implemented on April 18, 2025, in observance of Good Friday.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo, stated this was aligned with Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 88/2019 Article 3 Paragraph (3).

The regulation specifies that traffic restrictions with odd-even system do not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and national public holidays established by Presidential Decree.

Odd-Even Policy in Jakarta Put on Hold for Eid Break

"The odd-even traffic policy will be suspended on April 18 to facilitate people's mobility in observance of Good Friday," he mentioned, Wednesday (4/16).

This decision also refers to the Joint Decree of three ministers, namely Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of PANRB, on National Holidays and Collective Leave in 2025, in which the upcoming April 18 is set as a national holiday.

"Even though the odd-even policy is cancelled, we urge the public to always prioritize safety and adhere to the applicable traffic regulations," he asserted. 

For information, odd-even traffic policy is usually applied on 25 main roads in Jakarta on weekdays to reduce congestion, but does not apply on weekends and public holidays.
