BPBD Warns of Tidal Floods in North Jakarta from April 27 to May 4

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) calls on residents who live in coastal areas to be alert for tidal floods or rob from April 27, 2025, to May 4, 2025.

Tidal waves will likely occur in coastal areas north of Jakarta

Jakarta BPBD Executing Unit Head, Isnawa Adji said the new moon phase (full moon) phenomenon has the potential to increase the maximum sea tide height in the form of coastal flooding (rob) in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.

"The maximum tide of sea water that has the potential to cause tidal waves will likely occur in coastal areas north of Jakarta," he expressed, Monday (4/28).

BPBD Warns of Potential Landslides in Jakarta

Therefore, he urged the residents living in the northern coastal area of Jakarta to anticipate the impact of maximum tidal sea water which has the potential to cause coastal flooding, starting from Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok, and Seribu Islands.

BPBD urges residents to continue monitoring the latest information regarding sea waves on the pages bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut.

"If you encounter an emergency that requires help, immediately contact the Jakarta Siaga Emergency Call 112," he said.
