Illegal Parking Along Jalan Matraman Raya Still Rampant

Although the raid keeps being intensified, yet the officers still find illegal parking along Jalan Matraman Raya, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, precisely from in front of East Jakarta Police Station to Stamplat Bogor. No wonder, the traffic congestion cannot be avoided.

Based on Beritajakarta.com observations, dozens of private cars are parked illegally along Jalan Matraman Raya. Even, similar condition also conducted by hundreds of motorcycles near the main gate of Jatinegara Regional Market and in front of the Police Station. Whereas, a parking and stop ban sign already been installed.

Ali (40), a motorcyclist claimed he had not about the prohibition ban. Nevertheless, he did not park his vehicles inside the market as the access is so chaotic. 

Traffic Congestion to Shift During Ramadan

"I prefer to park outside rather than inside. Besides, the raid here is very rare," he exclaimed, Tuesday (6/23).

Related to this matter, Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Bernard Octavianus Pasaribu confirmed illegal parking is still rampant on Jalan Matraman Raya.

"We have controlled the motorists who parked illegally. We'll hold the raid again tomorrow. If they still violate the rule, we will do towing," he asserted.
