BPBD Warns of Tidal Floods in North Jakarta from May 11 to 17

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) calls on residents who live in coastal areas to be alert for tidal floods or rob from May 11 to 17, 2025.

Jakarta BPBD Executing Unit Head, Isnawa Adji said the sea tide occurs due to the phenomenon of the full moon, as reported by the Tanjung Priok BMKG Class I Maritime Meteorological Station regarding the early warning for coastal flooding (Rob).

"This phenomenon has the potential to increase the maximum sea level, resulting in coastal flooding or tidal flooding in the northern coastal areas of Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (5/14).

BPBD Issues Early Warning of Potential Landslides in Jakarta

Therefore, he urged the residents living in the northern coastal area of Jakarta to anticipate the impact of maximum tidal sea water which has the potential to cause coastal flooding, starting from Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke, Tanjung Priok, and Seribu Islands.

BPBD urges residents to continue monitoring the latest information regarding sea waves on the pages bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut.
