Parking Levy Revenue Targeted to Achieve Rp 1.2 T

We're optimistic to achieve the target this year

The Parking Technical Management Unit (UPT) for Jakarta Transportation Department is targeting to receive the revenue of on-street parking levy this year by Rp 1.2 trillion. Last year, the on-street parking revenue from 400 parking lots was only Rp 7.8 billion or not achieved target. This is because of the leakage of parking levy by Rp 400 billion.

"From our calculation, the revenue per year should reach Rp 500 billion per year," told Head of Parking UPT, Sunardi Sinaga, Wednesday (6/24).

Parking UPT to Install CCTV Cameras

Sunardi continued such leakage broke out because of some parking lots set a manual system. It is based on 800 thousand parking lots with enter-exit intensity in Jakarta that reached 10 million vehicles.

By this year, Jakarta Provincial Government firstly applied the electronic parking system on Jalan H Agus Salim or Jalan Sabang, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Surely, it brings a positive impact on the revenue of parking levy.

"When the system was still manual, we only received Rp 500 thousand per day. But after using parking machine, its amount increased up to Rp 13 million per day," explained Sunardi.

He uttered, the system has also applied on Jalan Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. Before being applied, the revenue was only Rp 4.7 million per day, but it has increased Rp 100 million per day.

"We installed 90 electronic parking systems on such road," he uttered.

Until 2018, he is targeting to install 400 other systems on-street parking all over Jakarta. He targets to install 1,000 electronic parking systems, followed by installing 1,000 parking machines.

Sunardi added, the target of parking levy by Rp 1.2 trillion was initiated by Jakarta government. It is believed to be achieved if the parking management system can operate electronically.

'We're optimistic to achieve the target this year," he stressed.
