This effort aims to green the capital city, especially in densely populated and industrial areas.
"Today, we are doing planting and arranging the area in Cakung Barat Urban Village, Cakung Sub-district, East Jakarta, this area is an industrial area. We want Jakarta to be greener," he expressed, Tuesday (5/27).

The trees planted consisted of 103 yellow tabebuya trees, 40 jatimas trees, 10 buni trees, and 10 salam trees. The tree planting was executed along two kilometers at the intersection of Jalan Pegangsaan II heading towards the Cakung intersection area.
In several meetings with the mayor, he expressed his desire to make Jakarta greener by planting trees that are easy to grow.
He also instructed the Jakarta Parks and City Forests Agency Head, Fajar Sauri, to inventory all potential locations for greening. He assessed, the priority for greening would be in densely populated and industrial areas, such as Cakung.
He also wanted locals to use this green area maximally along with the availability of clean water access, children's playgrounds, and an amphitheater.
"I hope Jakarta has many places where residents can play, recreate, use their leisure time productively, and in a good way, but the parks must be clean," he explained.
Jakarta Parks and City Forests Agency Head, Fajar Sauri added arrangement was being intensified around Jalan Raya Bekasi and also greening in Cakung area.
"We have planted 103 yellow tabebuya trees, and also jatimas," he stated.
He explained they function to absorb pollutants and lower the temperature in the surrounding environment, which is an industrial area with heavy traffic. Additionally, planting buni trees and bay trees aimed to attract bird wildlife.
"So, the condition of this area will become healthy, comfortable, and authentic," he said.
