Ragunan Zoo Bustling with Holiday Visitors

One of the educational tourist destinations, Ragunan Zoo (TMR), located in South Jakarta, was bustling with visitors during the national holiday of the Ascension of Jesus Christ and collective leave period. 

“From morning until this afternoon, we recorded 9,244 visitors,"

Ragunan Zoo Public Relations Head, Wahyudi Bambang, stated that from May 29 until this afternoon, the zoo had welcomed more than 32,000 people.

“From morning until this afternoon, we recorded 9,244 visitors with 902 purchasing tickets online and 8,342 buying tickets on-site,” he said, Friday (5/30).

Aside from the popular playground area, he noted that the Children’s Animal Park (TSA) also attracted 346 visitors, while the Schmutzer Primate Center (PPS) drew 706 visitors.

He also conveyed that visitors arrived at the zoo using 1,026 motorcycles, 914 private cars, 83 bicycles, and six buses.

"We predict that the number of visitors could reach 100,000 people during long holiday of Ascension of Jesus Christ until the upcoming weekend," he revealed.

Meanwhile, one of the Ragunan Zoo visitors, Alfian (34), mentioned choosing to spend the holiday with his family at Ragunan due to the affordable entrance ticket and easy access to public transportation.

"We took Transjakarta bus from our home in Mampang Prapatan. Visiting TMR is excellent for educating children about fauna and flora," he said.
