Tugu Stadium Grass Meets FIFA Standards, Pramono Says

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, inspected the results of the first phase renovation of Tugu Stadium in Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta, Monday (6/2).

According to him, the revitalization of Tugu Stadium is conducted in several stages of construction.

In the first phase, the renovation cost Rp 79.94 billion and has received certification from FIFA.

"The first stage is finished today. The grass is nice and has received a certificate from FIFA. Of course, international players can play here as well," he explained.

The second phase of the development would begin with a budget by Rp 101 billion. This gradual revitalization is conducted to ensure that the construction process runs smoothly.

"This is entirely the result of the compensation for the existing apartments at PT Arsya Mandiri Land. Thus, it is in ways like this that we will build Jakarta," he added.

Hopefully, the second and third phases of development could be completed by the end of this year. Thus, Persitara, which is currently competing in Liga 3, will be able to use the Tugu Stadium as their playing venue.

However, regarding the possibility of Tugu Stadium becoming the home base for Persitara, he mentioned that further discussions were still needed with the Sports Agency and North Jakarta Mayor.

By doing so, the stands on the north and west sides of the stadium would be built with a capacity of around 4,200 to 5,000 spectators. He also requested that supporting facilities be available, such as a small business area and a merchandise sales area like jerseys.

"It is a reinforcement to create a more modern stadium," he added.

He also wanted Betawi ornaments to decorate the stadium. He believed this stadium will become one of the pride of North Jakarta residents.

"And we have proven that the field conditions are very good," he stated.
