PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) through the mandate given by the Jakarta Provincial Government as stated in Gubernatorial Regulation Number 14/2019, has completed the construction of a world-class stadium with FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) standards.
JIS is one of the stadiums that is similar to stadiums in Europe
JIS was designed by Buro Happold, a planning consultant from England who has international experience in designing modern football stadiums in the Premier League, such as the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in London and the design of several Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums.
“JIS is one of the stadiums that is similar to stadiums in Europe both in design and facilities. In addition, Jakpro was also accompanied directly by a FIFA Assessor during the planning and design of JIS," expressed JIS Project Acting Director, Arry Wibowo, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Monday (9/12
).Governor Dedicates JIS to Jakmania, Jakarta, and IndonesiaJIS has met the technical recommendation criteria and FIFA standard football stadium requirements such as:
1) Starting from the pre-construction stage or planning stage including determining the strategic location of the stadium and easy to reach the public
2) Elements of safety and security, such as building structures, fire prevention systems, and security systems. Availability of control rooms, player medical rooms and the public
3) Orientation and parking. JIS has parking areas inside and outside the stadium. Vehicle and bus parking areas, as well as special VIP/VVIP parking areas that are separated from public areas
4) The playing area includes the size of the field, the selection of the type of natural/synthetic grass and its drainage system, placement of the player bench, LED Perimeter/advertising board, accessibility of the field in an emergency, signage area, access markers, evacuation route markers scattered throughout the stadium area, and emergency markers
5) Players and match officials, such as a player fitting room equipped with toilets and shower areas
JIS has 4 changing rooms with special access points for players to enter/exit, coach room, massage room, 2 indoor warming up rooms, doping control room, ball girl/ball boy room
6) JIS has also complied with FIFA standards for the fulfillment of spectator facilities, starting from the standard of spectator comfort which is very concerned
JIS also provides facilities for the disabled, such as access points, audience areas, parking, lifts, and special toilets for the disabled. In addition, ticketing systems and electronic access are available at every gate to support the digitization of the ticketing system
7) Hospitality, such as facilities for important VIP and VVIP guests, such as corporate boxes, royal lounges, meeting rooms, and special VIP/VVIP lobby and drop off access
8) Media facilities, such as press conference rooms, media rooms, mixed zones, special media stands, broadcasting infrastructure
9) Lighting and power supply, such as special power supply for energy needs in JIS and the region, main field lighting standard to support broadcasting needs of 2,400 lux international standard
10) Communication and additional areas including the provision of adequate telecommunications networks
According to the latest FIFA regulations, according to Arry, modern stadium designs need to pay attention to environmental sustainability issues. One of the stadiums is recommended to be integrated with public transportation facilities.
That is why, the capacity of parking facilities at JIS is limitedz thus spectators or supporters who visit the stadium prefer to use public transportation rather than private vehicles.
Currently, JIS has been integrated with Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and will later be integrated with the Jakarta Commuter Line and LRT. To support it, JIS only provides 1,200 parking pockets for buses and private vehicles.
“The modern FIFA standard stadium is now designed for a future that needs to pay attention to sustainability. One of them seeks to be integrated with public transportation. Europe stadiums are the same, after being renovated, Santiago Barnabeu only leaves approximately 500 parking pockets for buses and private vehicles. In fact, the historic stadium in the center of Europe, namely Wembley in London, advises all spectators who attend to optimize the available public transportation," he explained.
Thus, FIFA-standard stadiums are seen based on the completeness of facilities, infrastructure, as well as meet technical recommendations and requirements to the provision of hospitality facilities.
This means that, from the planning and development aspect, JIS has complied with the standards set by FIFA but match certification is a separate matter.
For instance, whether it will be used to host the Asian Cup or the World Cup, the assessment or certification is done separately following the standards of each match.
