Pramono Orders Crackdown on Illegal Parking

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government will crack down on illegal parking across the city, in response to the growing number of violations that disrupt public order and must be addressed.

"I’ll order a crackdown on illegal parking. Jakarta can't continue to tolerate this," he said at RW 07 Secretariat Office, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, North Jakarta, on Thursday (6/26).

Regarding the idea of raising parking fees, Pramono mentioned that no decision has been made. However, he emphasized that the government's current focus is on cracking down on illegal parking.

"As for parking fee, we haven't decided it yet. But we will immediately take action to address the illgal parking," he asserted.

In addition, he also shared plans to optimize Jakarta's public spaces. He has asked the Head of City Parks and Forestry Agency to maximize the use of public areas by turning them into parks, aiming to improve environmental quality and provide more green space for residents.

"As for parks, I've asked the Head of City Park and Forestry Agency to plant greenery in all public spaces that can be converted into parks," he conveyed.

Furthermore, the city is also working to enhance urban quality by organizing utility cables, one of them is in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Therefore, he will hold a special meeting about Integrated Utility Network System (SJUT).

"That's how we'll start organizing the overhead cables and move them underground, starting from Kebayoran. For me, this will help make Jakarta more orderly," he expressed.
