Rano Opens Grand Islamic Drama Performance at TIM Theater

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, officially opened the grand drama performance of Prince Jayakarta "The Light of Islam in Betawi Land" at the Main Theater of Taman Ismail Marjuki (TIM), Cikini, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

This activity initiated by the Jakarta Islamic Centre was held to welcome the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram and the city's 498th anniversary.
"On behalf of the Jakarta Government, I thank you. I am proud and happy if the ulema and clerics are performing dramas; my heart is proud," he expressed, Tuesday (7/1).

Institute Deputy Head for Islamic Studies and Development Jakarta (Jakarta Islamic Center/JIC), Didi Supandi, explained that this activity is in its second year of implementation.
According to him, this is part of the Islamic da'wah to introduce the figures who played a role in fighting against the colonizers.
He hopee that the value of the story would strengthen the spirit of unity and togetherness in building Indonesia, especially Jakarta.
"The Islamic performance welcoming 1 Muharram has a value of safety. So, we can maintain togetherness and unity to advance Indonesia, especially Jakarta," he said.
