Pramono to Prioritize Three Key Family Issues

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that he will prioritize resolving issues in health, education, and people's welfare.

"Those are my priorities, including the issue of stunting, which should ideally be reduced to below 14 percent," said Pramono during the 32nd National Family Day commemoration at Sasono Langgen Budaya, TMII, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Sunday (7/6).

Pramono explained that to address education issues, his side has increased the number of Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) recipients to 707,622 and Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU) to 16,979. Besides, Pramono also claimed to have improved the quality of the programs.

He gave an example that KJP recipients are provided with free access to museums and tourist attractions in Jakarta together with their parents. Additionally, starting this year, KJMU recipients can receive support not only for undergraduate studies but also for master's and doctoral programs for high-achieving students.

Moreover, the city has implemented a program to redeem diplomas for children from underprivileged families who have completed school but had their diplomas withheld. This year, his side has redeemed 6,652 diplomas.

In the health sector, Pramono Anung highlighted that one key factor in addressing stunting is providing access to clean water and nutritious food. To support this, he has set a target for clean water pipeline coverage to reach 100 percent of Jakarta by 2030.

Furthermore, the Jakarta Provincial Government continues efforts to improve the quality of health services and infrastructure.

"With improvements in health and education, we hope to enhance the quality of life and well-being of families," he asserted.

Beyond programs to boost welfare, education, and health, he also stressed the importance of communication, openness, mutual understanding, and shared responsibility in raising children within families.

Head of Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency, Iin Mutmainah, explained that during the National Family Day celebration, a commitment was read to succeed in the eight family functions, which consist of religious, socio-cultural, love and affection, protection, reproduction, socialization and education, economic, and environmental development functions.

According to Iin, what the governor emphasized is part of these eight family functions.

She admitted that services at integrated health posts (Posyandu) have now implemented six categories of the Minimum Service Standards (SPM), namely Education, Health, Public Works, Public Housing, Public Order and Peace, and Social.

"So, it is not just about health. Posyandu cadres also observe, record, and organize community needs for follow-up," she explained.
