End of July, Embankment Repair on Harapan Island Completed

The embankment located on the northern side of Harapan Island, RT 03/02, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, is undergoing repairs. It is targeted to be completed by the end of July.

This work involves nine personnel

Seribu Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Mustajab said, repair was made to preserve the embankment that is beginning to deteriorate or erode due to frequent wave attacks.

"This work involves nine personnel," he expressed, Monday (7/14).

He explained, it was carried out along 280 meters with 1.5 meters high by pouring concrete at the bottom of the embankment to strengthen and protect the structure from seawater erosion.

"It has been ongoing since July and the progress has touched 35 percent. Hope evertything goes well until done," he explained.

Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Yusuf admitted, the embankment serves as both a road access and a breakwater for the locals.

"Hopefully, the embankment can become stronger and the locals feel safer and more comfortable," he hoped.
