MPLS Encourages Early Moral Development in Students

Jakarta Commission E Member, Abdul Aziz, emphasized the importance of School Orientation Period (MPLS) as a key momentum to shape students' character from an early age.

"School shouldn't be just a place to study academic subjects, but also a place to build character,"

He expected that MPLS would not only serve as an introduction to the school environment, but also as a moment to instill moral values.

"School shouldn't be just a place to study academic subjects, but also a place to build character, such as discipline, honesty, confidence, empathy, and critical thinking skills," he explained, on Monday (7/14).

He believes that character develop ment is crucial to better prepare students for real-world challenges, including managing social interactions, controlling emotions, and adapting to different environments.

"Through MPLS, schools can equip students not only with knowledge, but also noble character," he added.

Aziz hopes that character education can become a strong foundation for Jakarta's youths, helping them grow into individuals who not only excel academically but also uphold integrity and good character.

"Hopefully, we can achieve this together so that our future generation excels not just in academics but also in morality," he expressed.
