The Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) successfully held a job fair this year with significant achievements.
Our aim is not just to channel workers, but also to ensure they can survive and thrive in their jobs
It is recorded that 1,367 job seekers absorbed and have signed employment contracts through a job fair.
Jakarta Disnakertransgi Head, Syaripudin said, the main indicator of a successful job fair is the number of applicants who manage to secure employment.
Jakarta Govt Commits to Opening Wider Opportunities for Job Seekers"We conduct regular evaluations and monitoring to ensure that this absorption data is valid and accountable," he expressed, Thursday (8/7).
He explained, the 1,367 absorbed workers are not only the result of the initial selection process but have also gone through all recruitment stages up to contract signing. This data was collected from the official reports of each participating company in the job fair.
Based on the data gathered, the most popular sectors this year are wholesale and retail trade such as modern retail and supermarkets; accommodation and food service, including hotels, restaurants, and cafes; transportation and warehousing, especially logistics and shipping.
Following the manufacturing sector such as food, beverages, and light manufacturing; then service sectors like cleaning, security, and household services.
"Those sectors are deemed aligned with Jakarta's workforce profile, especially graduates of vocational schools, senior high schools, and diplomas. Moving forward, we will expand coverage to the digital technology sector, the creative industry, and healthcare, to create more diverse and sustainable employment opportunities," he explained.
Aside that, his agency made strict selection of participating companies and hold technical meetings before implementation to ensure transparency in the recruitment process.
Also regularly monitor the results of the job fair through reports on the number of applicants, the progress of the selection process, and the number of workers hired.
"We ensure that the job openings are genuinely valid and needed by the company, and we guarantee that the employment process is done properly and responsibly. Nothing is merely a formality," he added.
He also implements a continuous monitoring system for the workers who have been deployed. This system is supported by digital registration and field monitoring by work dispatch officers, who regularly coordinate with the related companies regarding the workers' status, probation period, or potential termination of employment.
With this comprehensive system and approach, the Jakarta Government hopes to continue reducing the unemployment rate and expand inclusive and sustainable employment opportunities.
"Our aim is not just to channel workers, but also to ensure they can survive and thrive in their jobs," he stated.
