Pramono: Pembangunan Taman Bendera Pusaka untuk Kepentingan Publik

New Facilities to Be Installed at Bendera Pusaka Park

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung affirmed that the development of Bendera Pusaka Park, which integrates three parks in South Jakarta namely Langsat, Ayodya, and Leuser Parks, is being carried out for the benefit of the community.

"It is for the public,"

Earlier, Pramono had inspected the site of Bendera Pusaka Park in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Thursday (8/7) morning.

"This is not for personal or City Hall interests. It is for the public," he asserted at Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Building in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

He explained that the park will feature various public and sports facilities that can be accessed for free, such as tennis and padel courts, jogging tracks, and more. He believes the park's development will benefit the wider community.

The integrateion of three main parks in South Jakarta also aims to address flooding and sanitation issues in the region.

"This is the first time we're developing a park that also solves flooding and odor issues. Those have been long-standing complaints," he mentioned.

He acknowledged that a significant budget is required for the project, but he reaffirmed that the Jakarta Provincial Government will remain committed to moving forward for the sake of public benefit.

"This is necessary for the betterment of Jakarta. And the park will be called Bendera Pusaka Park," he stated.

He also shared the reasoning behind the name. It was chosen to remind people, especially younger generations, that Indonesia's independence was hard-earned.

"I want this to be a thematic park, one with historical value. A place that reminds visitors that our freedom didn't come easily," he said.

He hopes that Bendera Pusaka Park, which is planned to be opened for 24 hours, will become a new icon in South Jakarta.
