Anwar Ensures Infrastructure Repairs at Sepak River are Running Optimally

South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar has ensured that the flood control infrastructure repairs at Sepak River, Petukangan Utara Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district, are progressing optimally.

"Today, we are monitoring the progress,"

During an inspection with Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission A Legislator Dadiyono, Anwar said the repair work is going smoothly and according to the plan laid out by South Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency.

"Today, we are monitoring the progress to see how far the work has gone. Moreover, the previous landslide was quite severe, and if left unattended, further collapse could occur, potentially affecting nearby buildings," he said on Friday (8/8).

Dadiyono commended the swift response and expressed gratitude for repairing the collapsed river embankment.

He emphasized that maintaining public infrastructure in Jakarta is not solely the responsibility of the government, but also requires active community participation.

"It's looking neat and sturdy now. I urge everyone to help keep it clean, as one of the recurring issues is the lack of public awareness in maintaining what has already been built," he added.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head, Junjung, explained that his team has been repairing 550 meters of the collapsed Sepak River embankment. The work began in June 2025, involving 25 blue troop personnel.

"The current progress has reached 60 percent and is targeted for completion in October," he mentioned.
