In addition, this job fair not only provides opportunities within Jakarta but also abroad. He stressed the importance of language skills for those interested in working overseas, in countries like Japan and China.
"Our main issue when working abroad is language. Indonesian workers are actually resilient, but they often face difficulties due to a lack of language skills," he noted.
Therefore, Pramono instructed the Head of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi) Agency to provide a Mobile Training Unit (MTU) to provide languange training for job seekers.
He also pointed out that job fair is being held with a more transparent and open system, in hopes of providing fair opportunities for everyone to be employed.
"Hopefully this can be utilized well, without long queues or evercrowding," he mentioned.
He shared that Jakarta's economic growth in this quarter reached 5.18 percent, higher than the national average of 5.12 percent. Thus Jakarta has contributed around 16.61 percent to the national economy.
Head of Jakarta Nakertransgi Agency, Syaripudin, conveyed that the Jakarta Provincial Government has been organizing 13 job fairs since February by involving 458 companies.
"Out of a total of 3,777 job seekers who participated in the selection process, 1,450 have been employed. So, the effectiveness of matching job seekers with available positions reached 38.39 percent," he explained.
The Jobfest is the third batch held in East Jakarta and it will run for two days, from August 19 to 20, 2025.
This Jobfest introduces a new concept as part of evaluating and improving previous events, by taking place in strategic locations, improving publications, showcasing training and Mobile Training Unit, and providing career services, population administrative services, and business licensing.
"Another innovation is holding the event in a hybrid format. We've prepared it via Kemnaker RI's Siap Kerja platform and the Jakarta Provincial Government's Karir Jakarta platform," he mentioned.
That innovation allows job seekers to access information, register, and submit application online. On this occasion, Syaripudin also expressed his gratitude to the companies participating in the event.
