Ahok Wants Market Operation Using Non Cash Transaction

Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama instructs that the implementation of market operation which is held by PD Jaya Market, uses non cash transaction. The operation will be held for 15 days starting from July 2-16.

The application of non cash transaction is in order to the market operation could be right on target that is needy citizens. All this time the markets indicated powered by the middleman who resells to citizens by high price.

"Please apply non cash transaction for the first 6 days trial. If it succeeds, it will be continued," said Ahok, at City Hall, Thursday (7/2).

City Holding Cheap Market Operation

Ahok claimed all this time his side has a trouble to record customers during market operation. As it cannot be known from where circle citizens who buy it. 

"Can someone buy then resold? High financier and resold. I want the data. By non cash transaction, i want to know everytime market operation, who needs this merchandise," he expressed.

The data collected via banking, will be matched with the data from Statistics Data Centre Agency (BPS). It will be used as reference for next market operation, werther it will be right on target or not. "Therefore we can make the regulation. We want it still be market penetration, thus the offering descend as the request does, we should add more the merchandise sold. So it would not be distortion," he stressed.

To simplify citizens in this non cash transaction, some banks which have cooperated will open registration. "Eventually it can directly open an account there. Even we already have Tabunganku with OJK, the deposit is only Rp 1,000, There are no bank and administration charge," he told.

Director of PD Jaya Market Djangga Lubis disclosed will try to realize Ahok's desire for applying the non cash system. "The system will be tried in the first 6 days. There are 3 banks which standby in the markets, that is Bank DKI with Jakcard, BCA with Flazz card, and BRI with Brizzi. We provide the trading and the machine in the field," he uttered.

By this market operation, Lubis hoped City could minimize the basic needs price in market thus it will not be surged. He also hoped, consumers do not shop excessively with the operation. "Just shop sufficiently. But you don't have to worry as basic needs  we provided is much. Such as eggs, chickens, beefs, and rice," he said.
