Jakarta Gov't Intensifies Coordination to Ensure Public Order

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to coordinate with the Central Government and Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to maintain public safety and order in the city.

"We're coordinating with the central government and Forkopimda,"

According to him, the Jakarta Government is paying close attention to several locations where recent demonstrations have taken place.

"We're coordinating with the central government and Forkopimda to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable, as those remain our top priorities," Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (8/29).

He also instructed all officials to be ready to provide the best possible service to the public, while encouraging citizens to work together in keeping Jakarta secure.

“We hope this is something we can all protect together,” he added.

Pramono also mentioned that certain schools had asked to temporarily halt in-person classes for the safety and well-being of students and staff.

“Some schools made this request. But if there's no such request, classes will continue as usual,” he said.

For schools unaffected by demonstrations, in-person learning continues. He noted that he has coordinated with Education Agency regarding this matter.

"I've spoken with Education Agency Head that some schools requested to switch to remote learning. But in general, most schools across Jakarta are operating normally," he emphasized.
