Damaged Retaining Wall in Kelapa Gading Timur Being Repaired

The Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit (SDA), North Jakarta, repairs the channel's retaining wall on Jalan Kelapa Cengkir Barat IV, RT 05/11, Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village.

Hopefully everything runs smoothly

Kelapa Gading Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Jhoni Sariyanto Situmorang said, this repair is a follow-up to the residents' aspirations, who reported that the retaining wall is already heavily damaged and collapsed, which naturally obstructs water flow and triggers flooding.

"After receiving the complaint, we immediately conducted a survey. Many parts were damaged, so we promptly took action," he expressed, Wednesday (10/1).

Sidewalk and Taman Barito Bus Stop Fully Repaired

He explained, the repaired channel has 72 meters long, 40 centimeters wide, and one meter high. This was done manually with nine personnel.

"It starts with breaking through the wall. Next, the retaining wall is repaired using river stones, and the exterior is plastered with cement to make it smooth and neat," he explained.

It has been underway since September 29, 2025, and is targeted for completion within 20 days.

"Hopefully everything runs smoothly according to schedule because it is currently the rainy season," he hoped.

He encourages residents to help keep the water channels clean by not littering.

"Hopefully, after repairs, the water flow will be smoother; the most important thing is to keep the channel clean," he asserted.

This repair received appreciation from a resident from RW 011, Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village, Hidayat (55).

"Hope it can be finished as soon as possible," he hoped.
