City Government Storngly Supports Olympic Day 2025

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung fully supports the organization of Olympic Day 2025, which will take place in Jakarta on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

According to him, Olympic Day is also meant to instill values of competition, rivalry, harmony, and mutual cooperation.

"Jakarta government, under my leadership, indeed provides the widest possible space for sports," he said at Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (10/2).

He cited, the organization of various international and national sporting events held in Jakarta, such as the Jakarta International Golf Championship at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) attended by top world golfers and the Jakarta Running Festival with more than 27,000 participants in October. Besides, Jakarta is also ready to host the Student Sports Week (Popnas).

"Because I believe that with many activities, Jakarta will truly benefit from it," he explained.

With various sports activities, Pramono believes that sports events in Jakarta are now getting better.

"We will strongly support for the 2025 Olympic Day event in Jakarta," he stressed.

Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI/NOC Indonesia) Chair, Raja Sapta Oktohari, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Jakarta government. KOI has set an ambitious target for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

"We have the goal of winning four gold medals. That's extraordinary because the target is twice as high as the previous record in Indonesia," he explained.

One of the main agendas of the Olympic Day event is the Fun Run 5K, which is open to the general public. This Olympic Day activity is held as part of welcoming various international multi-sport events that Indonesia will participate in.

This event is a form of support for the athletes participating in the Asian Youth Games Bahrain 2025, Islamic Solidarity Games Riyadh 2025, and SEA Games Thailand 2025.
