Pramono Sends Off Korpri Athletes, Targets Top 5 at Pornas XVII

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung sent off the Jakarta contingent for the upcoming National Sports Week (Pornas) XVII Korpri 2025.

"This time, I really hope that we can at least make it to the top five,"

During his remarks, Pramono aimed for Jakarta contingent to place within the top five at Pornas XVII Korpri, which will be held in Palembang, South Sumatra, from October 2 to 12, 2025.  

"Today, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, I officially send off the Jakarta contingent for the Pornas XVII Korpri 2025 in Palembang, South Sumatra," said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall.

He expressed optimism that the Jakarta contingent would deliver a strong performance, followed by Jakarta's recent overall victory at the National Student Sports Week (POMNas) XIX in Semarang, Central Java.

"This time, I really hope that we can at least make it to the top five . I believe you can do it. We're all wishing you the very best," he encouraged.

Jakarta Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) Head, Chaidir, stated that the Jakarta contingent is ready to compete. A total of 231 people have been deployed, including 124 athletes, 26 coaches, 26 managers and coordinators, 10 medical staff, and 45 officials.

They will compete in 13 sports including 5K run, cycling, basketball, badminton, chess, futsal, swimming, Korpri gymnastics, pencak silat, tennis, table tennis, and volleyball.

"In 2023, Jakarta ranked 10th, marking our best performance to date. This year, we aim to maintain that and push even harder to break into the top five," he asserted.
