Dukuh Atas 'Donut Ring' Project to Break Ground Soon

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has urged that pedestrian deck construction in Dukuh Atas, known as the "donut ring", begin without delay. He mentioned that the project plan would be discussed in a closed meeting later today.

"I have requested that, if possible, construction begin promptly,"

The pedestrian deck is specifically designed to provide a direct and integrated connection to various public transportation modes, including Jakarta MRT, Commuter Line (KRL), Airport Train, and Jabodebek LRT.

"We will hold a special meeting to discuss this because I have requested that, if possible, construction begin promptly so it can be completed by 2026," said Pramono in Kebayoran Lama Utara, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/13).

He belives that transport integration in Dukuh Atas would be significantly enhanced once the deck is completed. The infrastructure is expected to improve convenience for commutters when transferring between transport modes.

"If this happens, integration between LRT, KRL, MRT, Airport Train and even Transjakarta will be well accommodated," he asserted.

With the circular pedestrian bridge in place, passengers will be able to switch transport modes easily while staying protected from rain and heat.

"The benefits will be tremendous. People won't have to go outside and get wet or overheated. Instead, they can use the 'donut ring' to go wherever they need, whether to the airport train or heading home using KRL," he explained.
