Pramono to Crack Down on Illegal Levies at Tebet Eco Park

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stressed that the city government will take firm action against illegal fees being imposed by certain groups at Tebet Eco Park, South Jakarta.

"There must be no unauthorized charges. These parks belong to the public,"

He emphasized that city parks, including Tebet Eco Park, are public spaces that must remain freely accessible to all residents.

"Tebet Eco Park is open to the public. There shouldn't be any charges. We will address the issue," he stated at Jakarta City Hall, on Monday (10/20).

He emphasized that there are no official rules or charges imposed on the public for expressing themselves or engaging in activities such as photography in the park. Pramono committed to taking decisive action to stop these illegal practices.

He stressed that any form of illegal fee collection in public spaces is unacceptable.

"We will take action. Unauthorized fee collection is not allowed. The park belongs to the public," he asserted.

The statement comes in response to public concern on social media over reports that park visitors were confronted by members of a photography community for taking photos at Tebet Eco Park.

Allegations surfaced that only those with official permits could take photos in the park, and that individuals were asked to join the community by paying a fee of Rp500,000.
