Embankment of Sabira Island's Docking Pond Repaired

The Seribu Islands Transportation Sub-agency is repairing the embankment at the docking pond in Sabira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district.

This is targeted to be completed in early December

Seribu Islands Development and Service Development Section Head, Ahyus Wanto stated, the repair is a follow-up to the community's aspirations that have been yelled since 2023.

Then, in 2024, planning studies and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) are done, and in mid-2025, the construction phase begins.

End of July, Embankment Repair on Harapan Island Completed

"This is done to address the area of the embankment inlet channel that has experienced landslides and damage due to sea wave impacts," he expressed, Tuesday (10/21).

He explained, this repair is conducted along 135 meters, using Concrete Cylinder Sheet Pile material (CCSP). This project was undertaken by a third party.

"The work had to wait for the production of the sheet pile material for two months, from July to August. After it was completed, the material was immediately shipped to Sabira Island at the end of August," he explained.

He explained, the first piling will be executed in early September 2025 and will be continued with the installation of formwork and casting of caping beams from October to December 2025.

Aside that, dredging or deepening of the entrance channel to the anchoring pond is also done, thus fishing boats and residents' transportation can dock safely.

"This is targeted to be completed in early December. If the weather supports, the work will be finished on time," he explained.

The work received appreciation from RW 03 Chairman, Harapan Island Urban Village, Muhammad Ali Kurniawan.

"Very grateful and thankful because the landslides in the entrance channel have been quite disruptive to ship activities. Now, it has started to be organized and is safer," he stated.
