South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Rifki Rismal, informed that the dangling cables were reportedly caused by large vehicles pulling on them as they passed by.

"Rainy weather and strong winds also worsened the condition, causing the poles and cables to sag further," he said on Friday (11/14).

Rifki explained that shortly after receiving the report, his team, along with the relevant cable owners, handled the issue on Wednesday (11/12) by installing an additional pole to raise the cables.

He added that on Thursday (11/13), they conducted another joint survey with the cable owners to follow up by installing more support poles.

"In two days, we installed additional poles and fixed the loose cables so they no longer endanger pedestrians or road users," he noted.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Kurnia, appreciated the swift response in fixing the leaning pole and drooping cables, allowing road activities to return to normal.

"Hopefully, a permanent solution can be implemented. If possible, these overhead cables should be relocated into the Integrated Utility Network System (SJUT) to make the area look more organized," he said.
