TPT Jakarta Turun, Sektor Perdagangan Jadi Penyerap Tenaga Kerja Tertinggi

Jakarta's Unemployment Drops, Trade Sector Becomes Major Job Provider

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that Jakarta's open unemployment rate fell to 6.05 percent as of August 2025.

"...open unemployment rate (TPT) has dropped to 6.05 percent up to August 2025,"

This decline was driven by employment absorption in the trade sector, contributing 23.01 percent, the transportation and warehousing sector also at 23.01 percent, and the accommodation & food services sector at 12.67 percent.

“Regarding the open unemployment rate (TPT), it has dropped to 6.05 percent up to August 2025, which is lower than the previous period,” shared Pramono at the 2025 APBD Press Conference in Balairung, Jakarta City Hall, Friday (11/21).

Jakarta Govt Provides Skills Training for Job Seekers

Pramono explained that the city is holding job fairs, including for people with disabilities, which contribute to workforce absorption. He views the positive growth in these sectors as reinforcing Jakarta's role as a service city and a regional trade hub.

Committed to inclusivity, the provincial government continues to host job fairs and upskill people with disabilities, ensuring they receive equal job opportunities in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Jakarta remains a national investment magnet, contributing 14.24 percent of total national investment. Investment realization in Q3 2025 reached Rp 204.13 trillion, growing 6.4 percent year-on-year, and absorbing approximately 338,310 workers.

To maintain this positive trend, the provincial government will simplify licensing, optimize public service malls, and promote investment through the Jakarta Investment Festival and Jakarta Investment Center. Additionally, all sectors including sports will remain open to support Jakarta's development as a sport-tourism city.

“This is already visible when we held the Jakarta International Marathon and Jakarta Running Festival, and now major companies are seeking the privilege to hold their events here in Jakarta,” he mentioned.

However, Pramono noted the government will still limit marathons to ensure events like the Jakarta Running Festival and Jakarta International Marathon are well-managed.
