The event held at Pademangan Youth Center on Jalan Budi Mulia No 1 RT 11/12, Pademangan Barat Urban Village, carried the theme "Healthy Generation, Great Future".

Improving Health Services, City Launches JakConnected Program

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Murniasih Hutapea, stated that the event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining health through promotive and preventive measures.

"Marking the 61st HKN, we hope the public's awareness of health continues to grow. Health is a personal responsibility, and it’s always better to prevent than to cure," she conveyed.

She emphasized that future health challenges, such as obesity and infectious diseases, need to be tackled early to prepare Indonesia's golden generation.

"Let's do regular health checks, maintain a healthy diet, exercise, and avoid eating food just because it looks appealing; instead, choose what’s nutritious," she added.

Head of the Pademangan Sub-district Puskesmas, Nur Rahmat, explained that the event featured various activities, such as a content creation competition for students, teachers, and health cadres; free medical check-up; and a health talk show.

"Through this event, we hope the community will better understand that health is a long-term investment," he expressed.

His team also routinely conducts door-to-door services to raise awareness about health and the importance of early health check-ups.

According to him, the current target for health check-ups in Pademangan has reached 40 percent, exceeding the Jakarta Province target of 36 percent.

"Many people still do not understand the importance of early detection, so we continue to encourage and change their mindset. The earlier it is found, the greater the chance of recovery," she explained.

One resident of RT 01/12, Pademangan Timur Urban Village, Liani (40), said she was happy to participate in this event.

Besides gaining health insights, she said, she also enjoyed gathering with other residents. Even her child was happy to eat fruit together and receive a gift.

"This activity is very important and excellent for promoting a healthy lifestyle among the community. Health is expensive and must be maintained from an early age. Thank God, I regularly take my child for health check-ups at the Posyandu,” she conveyed.
